Youth Engagement at the Center
“Young
people are champions in advancing the health promotion agenda.”
The Alliance for Health Promotion places youth at the heart of its mission, recognizing the vital role of young leaders in shaping health policy and advancing global health literacy. For over a decade, the Alliance has collaborated closely with the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) and the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF), with student representatives serving on its Board and contributing meaningfully to its advocacy work.
In addition, the Alliance engages a wider network of young professionals through its internship program, welcoming graduate students from universities worldwide who bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to address emerging health challenges. To further encourage youth-driven innovation, the Alliance co-hosts events such as the IFMSA Pre-WHA Youth Workshop and hosts creative events such as hackathons, webinars, and workshops that empower young people to collaborate, learn, and co-create solutions for health promotion and sustainable development.
YOUTH EVENTS
In August 2025, the Alliance for Health Promotion (A4HP) partnered with AddictLab and the SDGCamps: Future Sustainability Innovators Program to lead a youth-focused hackathon in Geneva. Representing SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, A4HP challenged students aged 13–19 to develop an AI chatbot capable of transforming global health declarations into localized public health campaigns.
